Tiger Nation Update – Beta Club Shines Through Service and Leadership
Newton Falls Schools is proud to share an exciting update from our growing and energetic Beta Club. This year, 32 fourth and fifth grade students are serving our community through hands-on leadership and meaningful service projects that reflect the very best of what it means to be a Tiger.
Our students have already begun their work with heart and purpose. In honor of Veterans Day, members wrote personal letters of gratitude to local veterans and created handcrafted American flag art pieces.
These were presented to veterans at the Newton Falls High School assembly, a gesture that moved many and demonstrated the compassion and maturity of our young leaders.
Next week, Beta Club students will visit a local nursing home to play board games and spend quality time with residents. Next month, they will return to spread holiday cheer by singing Christmas carols during the facility’s Christmas party.
Students will also ring the Salvation Army bell at Shop n Save, continuing their tradition of giving back during the holiday season.
To help support their upcoming trip to the statewide Beta Club Convention in Columbus, students are participating in several fundraisers. One current effort involves collecting aluminum cans from now until students return from Christmas break.
Community members are invited to save their cans and drop them off with the Beta Club advisor at any time. While this collection is limited to adult donations, every can helps our students reach their goal.
Additionally, Beta Club will host a bake sale during Parent Teacher Conferences on November 25. Families and staff who enjoy baking are invited to contribute items for the sale, and everyone is welcome to stop by and purchase a treat. All proceeds will support student activities and convention travel.
“Our students are learning that leadership begins with service. Watching them step up with excitement and compassion for others makes me incredibly proud,” said Lora Sembach, Beta Club advisor.
We are incredibly proud of our Beta Club members for their leadership, teamwork, and commitment to service. Thank you to our families, staff, and community for cheering them on and supporting their efforts.
One District. One Board. One Community. You BELONG in Newton Falls!
