The School Board of Education plays a vital role in the governance and oversight of a school district.
Comprised of elected or appointed members from the community, the board is responsible for setting the district’s educational policies, approving the budget, and ensuring that the district’s schools provide a high-quality education to all students.
The board hires and evaluates the superintendent and treasurer, who manages the day-to-day operations of the district, and works closely with those two executives to implement strategic goals.
Additionally, the board serves as a liaison between the community and the school system, making decisions that reflect the values and needs of the district’s stakeholders.
Through regular meetings, the board provides a forum for public input and discussion, fostering transparency and accountability in the district’s educational practices.
